I have been trying to change the background color for my Index page but cannot get it to work.
Could someone tell me how step by step please

I assume you have been trying to change the background color in your source code without success. The reason is probably to be found on the next line, where you specify a background image:

Looks like this:

Either change the color of that image to what you want, or simply delete it and use the background color you want.

I don't understand link given in you reply for background color. I'd like all my email bg to be black. If I'm not mistaken #FFFFFF is code for black. I also want my fonts to be white.

While I'm here I'm having trouble putting my banner at the top were it says newsletter. Plus i've included IMG HTML in the About me and Current News sections. How do I get those codes to work.

The link that Corwings refered to is a link I put on that overides your set background colour so you would need to set yours as Black and your fonts as white and not use the same link as I do.

Thanks Glyn. I just remembered a couple of sites that have gobs of HTML codes for colors and for making a link. I'll try that.
