our edited forum page does not show up when we access the forum on the net.

go to your management area for your forum and check your settings and more

Not sure what you mean that updates don't show

Did you make posts that are not showing

You need to make sure any editing you did in the management area for your forum you SAVED if you didn't save then of course won't show up
