I monitor traffic to my web sites daily with using add free stats - I use sponsored links so only get 1 or 2 when my sponsored adds are not switched on - however today I had lots of traffic - I discovered that someone has uploaded 255 file extensions to my web site - things to do with car parts etc - I have since deleted these file extensions but cannot work out how they managed to hack my web site - can I prevent this from happening again?
As peter said we had issues with a hacker and that and one thing that was stressed is changing our password every so often and making it a password that is hard to crack
Good hackers can get in to your ftp area to upload things if your password is easy enough
And as well make sure your computer is clean of any viruses as well too.
