Hello,
I am trying to use the publish website feature of Expression Web 2, Web Development Software, I have a test web just to test this publishing feature. It's actually one of the template websites that comes with EWD2 software. I renamed the home page: ' index.html ' , firstly is that correct?

EWD2 seems to connect to the FTP server ok, of the FTP account that I have created at Bravenet.

However the error message I get back is: 550 index.html: permission denied .

Does anybody know what that error refers to, or how it can be corrected?

? You can not see the site? , no you wouldn't do because my problem is that I'm having a problem uploadng the site via FTP, but I really wish the FTP upload would work, and I was looking for a little help ?!

So her response is always can't see site or your site looks like this



Try and see if saving your home page as index.htm will work


I know bravenet made some changes lately with their hosting


Normally your homepage has to be index.html or index.htm


If that doesn't work and you are a paying customer try opening a support ticket

Hi All

I just thought I'd let you know that I have now figured it out. There were a few problems going on there. Firstly I had to renew my domain name before I could publish to it. Whoops :-/ , I hadn't used it in a while!
Then there were a few more options that I had to set in Expression Web in order to correct it, they weren't given in the book I was following and ultimately I found them via an online tutorial that was recommended to me.
