Paying for a domain name is not sufficient to eliminate the advertisements. A domain name only gives you a name. To eliminate the advertisements you need paid hosting. Domain names and hosting are separate issues and are paid for separately. Domain names are usually about $10 to $20, and are good for one year. If you don't pay the rent yearly, the domain name expires and can be purchased by someone else.
Hosting can cost that much, but on a monthly basis. Special extended service deals are available, making it much cheaper that that.

A lot of people do have a bad habit of posting a link to something other than the page with the problem. However, I see no ads on the linked page either.
Possiblities:
1. You recently upgraded and were seeing a cached page
2. You have some malware on your PC
3. The problem isn't on the page that you gave as the link
