Firstly, thanks Peter for your previous advice!! I'm stuck on how I create a html verification file. Up to now I've used the website wizard and kept it simple to make my website - any help would be fab!

I haven't searched for the previous thread but I guess you are referring to Google verification.

The separate verification file is a .txt file not html. If you have a Windows PC you just use Notepad, if you have another operating system then use whatever text editor comes with it.

Having done that just upload the file with File Manager.

Instructions on what the file should look like are found in Google Webmaster Tools.
