Re: Business insurance

Dave
I started my own business after 12 years of working for someone else. I’m very good at what I do but we all make mistakes. I have insurance for accidents on-site (paint, headliner, etc damage) but from what I was told, it doesn’t cover possible future leaks. Is there any insurance for workmanship like if a windshield leaks after 5 months and causes thousands in electrical repair? Can anyone refer a company? Any feedback is truly appreciated. I’m literally losing sleep on this. Thanks!
Don’t lose sleep over something you have no control over. Don’t get me wrong, if you perform quality work leaks should be rare and if you follow up on any complaints promptly damage should be very minimal. If you’re cleaning up someone’s mess from a previous install document the problem and have the car owner sign off. That being said, stuff happens. But most who lose sleep worrying about what might happen often realize down the road that their worst fears never came to be.
We have used 2 installers for over 30 years now, and we always use oe fast cure urethane applying it to the glass in a continuous v bead like the factory does. It’s rare to have a legitimate leak.

Re: Business insurance

Would products liability insurance cover it?

Re: Business insurance

I haven’t found an insurer willing to take the risk. Even if they sell you coverage prepare to fight if you turn in a claim. Remember, we’re talking about insurance companies.

Re: Business insurance

It's called errors and omissions coverage I believe.
