Re: Is It Safe To Tint Acura/Honda Acoustic Sidelite Glass?

Thanks, BL!

Re: Is It Safe To Tint Acura/Honda Acoustic Sidelite Glass?

Depending on where you live, you might be running afoul of the law.

The federal spec says that front door glasses and windshields must transmit at least 72% of visible light ( I might be slightly wrong on the percentage). Any film you apply to the glass will bring it below that level.

In New York, some police departments are starting to check the percentage with light metering equipment and giving out tickets.

Re: Is It Safe To Tint Acura/Honda Acoustic Sidelite Glass?

I haven't seen this part either but I assume that it is simply heat strengthen laminated glass which would not make tinting the glass a problem. State laws for aftermarket tinting applies.
