16 Infinity Q80 Side Moldings

Any help on removing side moldings would be appreciated. We have the new Chrome top molding and the retainer. Looking for pointers on this job.
Thank you
Jim

Re: 16 Infinity Q80 Side Moldings

I have not done one but here's a photo that shows both sides.

Re: 16 Infinity Q80 Side Moldings

Thanks Mike,
Apparently there's not too many who've done one of these. The only youtube video I can find on it already removed the side moldings before filming.

Re: 16 Infinity Q80 Side Moldings

No Prob. I would just line them up at a dealer and grab them IF you need them. Let your cust know that it may require new sides.

Re: 16 Infinity Q80 Side Moldings

sides are reusable. one clip at the front of the side piece to pop off. the corner of the side piece actually connects to the top molding. but that little wrap around corner piece is connected to the sides all the way to the back of vehicle. best way is to just remove the one clip in the front, and leave the rest of it connected to the car.there is enough room to work without removing the whole side pieces. you just have to leave the doors open for the entire job.
w/s top molding is just clipped in and reusable

it is pretty simple to remove the entire side molding, but not necessary.

Re: 16 Infinity Q80 Side Moldings

It’s easy. Plastic trim tool, under modeling, at each clip, and pop it loose.

Re: 16 Infinity Q80 Side Moldings

There’s also a hidden screw at front curve of molding at the A-pillar
