1989 Ponitac Firebird, backglass.....

So this is butyl with small quarter size dollops of urethane in the corners. We removed the gate portion so that the glass can be adjusted in the hole, and then remounted centered and aligned properly. My question, is there a large negative to using urethane only for the reinstall of the gate to the glass? Reason I ask, is its such a pain in the bootocks to adjust once it hits the butyl. One day years, and years ago, I witnessed a replacement of one of these glasses, but don't recall what the tech used. Last one of these was made in 92' and I started in glass in 94', I was less then 6 months in when one of these came in broken out.

Anyway, any helpful hints or cautions from any of you folks lucky enough to have experience on one of these. Thanks.
