Is Justice for Sale in Illinois? [Glassbytes article 11/28/16]

After I stopped laughing at the total and ridiculously naive question that is the title of the article, I tried to click on it. You can't without joining something. It figures! Hahahahahahahahahahahahah.

Re: Is Justice for Sale in Illinois? [Glassbytes article 11/28/16]

There are casinos all over the Chicago suburbs, but not in the city itself. Years ago, an alderman pontificated in front of the city council that allowing casino gambling to come in would bring organized crime to the City of Chicago!!!

The absolute monarch in the state of Illinois is someone no one outside Illinois ever heard of. Michael Madigan, the speaker of the Illinois house. He is elected from a tiny district in Chicago and goes to Springfield where he rules with an iron fist. Capone never had a deal like he has:

He makes the tax laws and the Chicago law firm he owns is paid countless millions by the biggest corporations to circumvent them. His daughter Lisa is the attorney general.

My kinda town!

The link to this article requires a free registration to view it in its entirety. Normally, we'd avoid that kind of link, but the registration pane didn't appear when we read and edited the orginal.

I was surprised to see this string, and that Glassbytes had posted the article.
I read it at the link below, and found no login needed. I see now that it does require one. I assume, but didn't check, that it's the same link Glassbytes used.

It's likely the best article to date, and the most unbiased one, I've read so far, on an important and really not that complex, case. It's only complex due to the efforts to kill it, and one can only "wonder" why so much effort, time, and of course, money, would be spent to kill a case the defendant's claim has no merit. It's worth reading.
