Nags DOES NOT publish list prices

Come on everyone, get with the program. Nags publishes "benchmark" prices associated with part numbers. Manufacturers publish list prices. As to Nags Benchmark pricing, it's a secret formula that has NO correlation to manufacturers pricing. If you still don't know what benchmark means do your homework.

No correlation? Ridiculous.

Check that...let me rephrase: No, ridiculous correlation.

Wait, still haven't got it...let me try again: Ridiculous, no correlation, to anything aside from the Colonel's secret recipe! If they tell us, they'd have to shoot us.

There, that's better.

This way, using a proprietary system that you have no control over, no idea what it means, how it's used, how it is gleaned, how it's applied, any foundation you had to base a profitable business model on is completely and wholly built on sand, instead of bedrock, because it can shift at any time and leave you wondering what happened. Simply, you built your house upon sand, just like the parable says...

Of course, there's that simple solution...a cost-plus business model...just like everyone else does. Everyone else....outside of insurer influence that is.

LOL and, JMHNLO

Re: Nags DOES NOT publish list prices

It's like the secret sauce that makes Google work, you think they are going to give up that info? Heck no. Now the real question is does NAGS fiddle around with the formula like Google does?

Re: Nags DOES NOT publish list prices

The only "formula" that counts is your own. Business owners need to have their own formulas in order to have a successful business.

Ask yourself why do I need NAGS? Do you need the numbering system? Do you need NAGS to tell you how long it will take to install a piece of glass? Do you need NAGS to tell you how much you can charge for anything?

Insurance companies train their claims settlement people to deny the claim if possible, offer a low ball settlement if not. Everytime someone accepts the low ball offer, the insurer profit increases.

Current "networks" give you no bargaining power. If you join, you automatically agree to their low ball offer on EVERY job unless you terminate the agreement in writing. Your agreement automatically renews each year!

Do you think insurance companies base their premiums on the number of shops that have already agreed to accept their low ball offers? Heck no, they base the premiums on full retail and then not only make profits when they don't have as many claims as expected, but also on each claim where the low ball offer is accepted. The networks are helping the insurers guarantee profits.

Policyholders also pay as a percent of their premium the litigation costs for the company to argue against them if they file a claim! The glass shops that gouge will be defeated in court. However, insurance companies have been losing in court. So they are the ones refusing to pay reasonable invoices.

Run your business so you can pay the bills, save some and be able to take a vacation now and then. You will be glad you did.

Have a great holiday!
