2003 Suburban liftgate hinges

2nd one in a month. And i've seen this on the s-10 blazers also. Where the encapsulation on the glass breaks away from the hinges. I just sell the customer a new back glass with the 'new' style hinges. But, does anyone know if this is a recall issue. All vehicles were out of warranty.
I DO NOT DO BUSINESS with the local dealers. SGC does.
SO I DO NOT WANT TO call them to find this answer out.

Re: 2003 Suburban liftgate hinges

My brother works for a dealer and I talked to him about this problem. He said that he dont show a recall but the recall alerts have not been updated since last monday. We had this problem on a 01 s-10 blazer the latch came off the glass and one shop had tried to reattach it using mirror glue the customer said it worked for about 6 months and then fell off again so we did the same thing you done and sold them a new one.

Yes have had same problem. No recall I know of, yes have to swap out glass to new style.

Re: 2003 Suburban liftgate hinges

Re: 2003 Suburban liftgate hinges

Had another one today, hinges broke away from the encapsulation. $$ there are still SOME perks to this biz.
