Use association meetings as a way to get to know your competitor and discuss issues that affect you all then taylor your meetings with the issues brought up, in the long run you might help each other out, especially if you are not in the same market area.
Start by sending the members a request like you are doing here. I think each region has its own unique issues.
Business profitability. Ask a lawyer / accountant to speak about profitable ways to run a business.
Or someone from the Small Business Association(SBA)
OSHA: Invite someone to talk about safety.
Medical: Invite someone from the local hospital discuss what to do with blood pathogens or cuts.
How to develop a business plan & understand a P&L & what it takes to keep control of the %'s so you can achieve your goals. Then maybe our Association would be able to carry on an intelligent conversation about anything pertaining to our industry. You have to have a solid foundation or the whole structure might fail. Your only as strong as your weakest link. etc.
