06 Mercedes

Anyone heard anything about the vin#'s on 06 models being ink? Which means if they get wet they smudge. I have heard that this is true but was wondering if anyone else has heard the same.

I for one dont work on newer mercedes stuff , the parts are almost always dealer , and you cant make a living off putting in 500 windshields for 150 profit .

The new vin plates are printed with an inkjet. So, no water or lube on the inside to cut it out. If it gets wet, the ink runs and you have to order a new vin plate from the factory, it takes a couple of days, and the w/s cannot be in the vehicle to install the new vin.

Mbz has ben doing this for a while we do alot of the newer ones be careful not to erase the vin, fyi we make good money on them
