Any truth to the buzz that Diamond is out trying to hire sales reps with big books? The line I heard was they are ready to pony up big money for a big insurance book. Seems a better way to get business than hiring an inexperienced Enterprise Rental kid. Anybody seen this type of activity in their markets? (Come on sales people I know you're reading this message board)
I heard about this shortly after leaving dt, but have not seen anything happen (in this market) yet-one of the shops I sold for hasn't had a rep for over a year and another one lost their rep three months ago-I have heard that they may go the way of s/lite with far fewer reps and much larger territories-whatever the case may be, they sure don't seem to be in any big hurry to make it happen-by the time they get people in place, there's not gonna be much left for them to grab-
Update on D-T looking for reps. They came, they saw, they coveted the insurance sales, said all the right things. It was time to get'r dun and they slinked away. Mumbled something about not having the resources, unable to afford a big time rep. Don't fall for that inZanely recruiting guy they have travelling the country. He and they are ... maybe about broke.
