Glassmate

Glassmates new version 5.1 was released 05/08/06 and in it it has a feild to allow for Deductible rebates or Discounts. I was shocked! In Colorado it is a crime, Insurance Fraud, to refund or rebate any or all of the Insured's deductible. I guess it's another way of reducing our profit margins.

Re: Glassmate

My software has that too. Never used it but it's there. I think that is a normal feature to have as it is still legal in some states.

Re: Glassmate

Is it illegal in Illinois?

Re: Glassmate

It is illegal in all states not to collect insurance deductibles. All additional discounts go to the insurance company. The deductible always stands. If you DECREASE the insured’s deductible you are INFLATING the insurance company price.

Re: Glassmate

the way they get around it is by giving a rebate to the customer,we live in wyoming there is no legislation here about waiving deductibles, networks say all rebates go to insurance company not the law.
