Retro episodes 2018

Anyone know the playlists yet

Re: Retro episodes 2018

Nothing on the Rage website yet, but the Rage Facebook page says this ...

You've been waiting a whole year for this, and now, this Saturday night, the hair is going to be as big as the hits as we take you back to Countdown in the '1980s.
That's right, we're running five full episodes of the show - including those hosted by Steve Gilpin of Mi-Sex, Mental As Anything's Greedy Smith, Australian Crawl's James Reyne, Spencer Jones and Billy Pommer of The Johnnys, and Howard Jones - from 11:52pm on ABC TV.
But don't forget to tune in earlier in the day from 10-11am to watch some of the bands' most memorable tracks to get you in a radical mood. Here's a little somethin' somethin' to keep you going until then:

Mi-Sex - "Computer Games"
Video for NZ pub electro chancers Mi-Sex's best song, "Computer Games". Rocking out in front of an enlarged Spacies machine, getting attacked by a dot matrix...

Re: Retro episodes 2018

Oh thanks for that . sounds like a great night of nostalgaia

Re: Retro episodes 2018

It is great to see that 5 episodes of Countdown are being played for the first week of Retro Month. I hope there are no repeated episodes amongst them. Hopefully the Steve Gilpin hosted episode is from March 1980,and fingers crossed the Howard Jones hosted episode is from 1985 and not the episode from 1984 that has previously been shown.

Re: Retro episodes 2018

So retro is finishing at 5am again, as I suspected. So stupid.

There is a repeated from Saturday morning (not the 10-11 guest programmer/special previous hour) Vault segment repeated after then. So many repeats...

And my prediction that 'Errol' and 'Live It Up' would get yet another airing came true

Another of the Australian Crawl clips being shown aired just a few months ago. More waste. Why couldn't they play 'Things Don't Seem' or 'Downhearted', or something they haven't shown as a standalone clip before?

The Countdowns being shown are presented in chronological order, as I think they did largely last year. Is this their 'theme' again?

Re: Retro episodes 2018

Thanks! Now someone just needs to post the details for each of those episodes (please).

Disappointing standalone clips, but still, I can't complain about 5 unrepeated eighties episodes.

Was it Jason (the site owner) who used to post the detailed episode info? I forget.

Re: Retro episodes 2018

Unless I'm using the search function wrong, episode 474 (the Howard Jones episode from 1985) does not have archive details on Jason's site.

Re: Retro episodes 2018

Thanks for posting those.

It's a shame 'Same Old Girl' by Darryl Cotton is live, it would be nice to have the video in better quality.

Re: Retro episodes 2018

Interesting that the playlists for 'rage goes retro 1' were available at 3 pm, I checked close to 4 pm and didn't think they would be up till about 5 pm

Re: Retro episodes 2018

I saw the music video of Darryl Cotton's Same Old Girl which he was in a cinema and saw his girl on the big screen on YouTube.

Re: Retro episodes 2018

Re: Retro episodes 2018

The "Strangers On A Train" clip was pretty cool

And how about Gary Glitter? Looked like he time travelled from 1973!

Re: Retro episodes 2018

I saw an official promo video of Strangers In A Train before.
