All Countdown episodes aired on Rage

I thought it would be good to compile a list of ALL Countdown episodes played on Rage since they first started airing them. I have looked at the Rage website, as well as my episodes, and have put together this list. The Rage website only goes back to 1998. If there are any Countdown episodes aired before then, they won't be on the list.

Please edit the list, re-post, update, comment, correct ..... do whatever improves this list. Together, we can get EVERY episode that has been on Rage. Any interesting information about re-aired Countdown episodes would be great. For example, I know that the first show for 1975 (John Farnham) was aired twice, as have been some other episodes.

I did a list of episodes that have yet to air in another thread titled
"Episodes of Countdown that Rage have not aired (2017 update)" in January last year

Re: All Countdown episodes aired on Rage

Thanks for these lists.

As I've said for the last couple of years, I think we're due for a 1986 onslaught at some point

Re: All Countdown episodes aired on Rage

Thanks Armin. Now I know what I've got and what I don't have in the way of episodes. I missed quite a lot in the 90s.

Re: All Countdown episodes aired on Rage

Very useful lists to have. I can now see that all 3 Countdowns that I requested this year have been shown before, albeit between 13 and 17 years ago. No wonder I missed them. I'd still like copies though, otherwise I'll have to keep requesting them and hope they get repeated.

Re: All Countdown episodes aired on Rage

I saw it purely by chance in 1993 when I just happened to watch Rage and was amazed to see a Countdown episode being shown. I just caught the end of the Freddie Mercury 1985 show and watched the 10th Anniversary show.

This was in the days before websites and the only way you could find out what was on was to make an expensive phone call. The music in the early 90's didn't warrant my interest to the extent I would make a phone call but I started taping every Rage after that night of Countdown.

I remember the frustrating thing in the 90's was that they would constantly repeat episodes. The Sherbet hosted episode of 1975 got shown 4 times in 8 years. The Iggy Pop episode from 1979 aired 4 times in 6 years.

Fortunately these days they are steering away from repeating episodes and the only repeats appear to be accidents such as showing the wrong Ignatius Jones episode or the wrong ep 323. The majority of the other repeats were during the Michael Shrimpton tribute.

When I first stumbled across this website from Jason in about 2004 I was able to obtain copies of the broadcasts I missed from other forum contributors.

Therefore, as I have copies of every episode of Countdown (and Rock Arena etc) that Rage have shown since 1993 I am happy to share those as long as my costs are covered.

If anyone is missing any broadcast episodes and are keen to get them you can contact me via my email.
