I have been going through the Classic Countdowns and updating my list of episodes, and I noticed something unusual in 1975 with these two episodes:
Show 36 hosted by Sherbet is dated 31st August 1975
Show 35 hosted by Marty Rohn is dated 7th September 1975
This is the wrong way round, unless they were recorded and aired out of order somehow. Check out Classic Countdown 1975.
After watching Classic Countdown 1981 tonight, I'm now confused about an 'extra' episode between Show 280 and 294:
Ep. 280 12/04/81 Host – Dave Mason No. 1-Ant Music – Adam And The Ants
19/04/81 Host – Jo Dolce No. 1-Ant Music – Adam And The Ants
26/04/81 Host – Steve Kilbey No. 1-Ant Music - Adam And The Ants
03/05/81 Host – Greedy Smith No. 1-Morning Train (9 to 5) – Sheena Easton
10/05/81 Host – Sheena Easton No. 1-Jealous Guy – Roxy Music
17/05/81 Host – Jimmy & The Boys No. 1-Jealous Guy – Roxy Music
24/05/81 Host – James Reyne No. 1-Jealous Guy – Roxy Music
31/05/81 Host – Ross Wilson No. 1-Jealous Guy – Roxy Music
07/06/81 Host – Broderick Smith No. 1-Jealous Guy – Roxy Music
14/06/81 Host – Marc Hunter No. 1-This Old House – Shakin Stevens
21/06/81 Host – Jon English No. 1-Bette Davis Eyes – Kim Carnes
28/06/81 Host – Darryl Cotton No. 1-Bette Davis Eyes – Kim Carnes
05/07/81 No. 1-Bette Davis Eyes – Kim Carnes
12/07/81 Host – Molly Meldrum No. 1-Stars On 45 – Stars On 45
19/07/81 Host – Marcia Hines No. 1-Stars On 45 – Stars On 45
Ep. 294 26/07/81 Host – Kim Wilde No. 1-Stars On 45 – Stars On 45
According to tonight's Classic Countdown 1981, episode 280 is right, and episode 294 is right, and there's one too many shows in between, according to dates. Which show shouldn't be there?
A-ha, that explains it. Industrial action - it doesn't happen so much today, hey? Thanks for that, Armin. It fixes up my list, much appreciated.
