Hey all,
I just digitally transferred a tape that was recorded in 1985 (I've placed it in that year as some of the videos are labeled from being shown on Late Shift, Simulrock and Kulture Shock that were TV shows that was on Adelaide TV in 1985) that contained about 3 hours of music videos..
Since most of it came up nicely I thought I would post a list of what was on it in case there are some music videos people wouldn't mind me putting onto YouTube (if it will let me) or onto my Dropbox..
Here are the music videos on the tape

Hi Chad.
Great list of videos. I love it when people share their old compilations, there's always bound to be some rareties.
I wouldn't mind seeing 'My Heart's On Fire' by Machinations if you wouldn't mind uploading it to youtube and sharing your channel..
Thanks.
'Let Me Be' sounds like it is probably the original, by Cats Under Pressure:

Bangles' 'Going Down To Liverpool' TV performance could be interesting if it is an Australian one - though I don't know that they came out here that early.
By the way, it seems you can pretty much upload any video to Vimeo. I started a channel there to upload videos that are blocked on YouTube:
https://vimeo.com/user37140967
Nothing has been blocked so far/I don't even know if blocking is an option there.
The only downside - you don't get nearly as many views as you would on YouTube.
Video quality came up pretty nicely for a 1985 tape!
Chad, I hope you don't mind me asking this (and you can of course say no), but I was wondering whether you had converted these files to mp4 from their original vob/DVD source?
I've only looked at the Machinations video from the dropbox links, which is a large file, but mp4. I know when I've converted vob to mp4 before, using a conversion program, it usually ends up with faint horizontal lines of compression throughout, particularly evident during any intense graphic scenes or where there is rapid movement/editing. The Machinations file unfortunately has these on it - perhaps I just have too close an eye for detail with these things and others may not notice it.
So... I was wondering, if you have the original vob files from your DVD still, if you wouldn't mind uploading a vob file for this Machinations video? You can extract individual video files, if these aren't standalone separate titles on disc, from DVDs using the DVD Shrink program (other programs no doubt can do it as well, just I'm familiar with using this). You can download DVD Shrink free online here - https://dvd-shrink.en.softonic.com/
No problem if you don't want to do this though.
Chad, just at the start of the Bangles' 'Going Down To Liverpool' live clip is a 'Kulture Shock' graphic. From a quick google, that seems to have been an Australian TV program, actually! Aired on SBS (or channel 0/28 as it was back then). This performance is probably quite rare.
Here's the info I found - http://televisionau.com/feature-articles/top-40-tv
Hi Chad - great list of videos! I would be interested in MPG/VOB uploads of the following:
Whose Problem? – The Models
Just What I Needed - The Cars
(and My Heart’s On Fire – Machinations which Nathan has already asked for )
Fantastic work and from the Youtube uploads - great quality too.
Thanks!
Chad, I've downloaded the vob now, and it looks good. Thanks!
Hi Chad,
Are you able to please upload The Let Me Be video again bust as a vob file. The MP4 file is out of sync by quite a bit for some reason. If you are also able to do a vob file for F.A.B - Happy People as well, I would be truly appreciative?
The Machinations vob that you did is awesome quality, very very impressed.
By any chance do you have other tapes laying around home that you haven't gone through as yet?
Thankyou heaps Chad
F A B's 'Happy People' was aired on rage a few years ago, during a Vault special (I think 2014).
Hey all,
I've put an ISO of the entire DVD in the folder for anyone who wants to download that..
