Re: RAGE Week 1 - 5th Jan 2012 Blurb

Yep, that's right, there is no info for the 1980 one, I don't know why.

Re: RAGE Week 1 - 5th Jan 2012 Blurb

Love the 1st show, especially brings back memories of that period as I finished High School the week before.

Some great stuff, with the Prince and Madonna stuff for example.

Wasn't a big Bonnie Tyler fan though, so could care less about her studio performances in the 1983 episode which looks a little bland to be honest.

The 1987 episode also looks pretty standard, some interesting 'live' performances is about it for me.

Shame we didn't get the Judie Tzuke hosted episode from 1980 to be honest. I couldn't stand Racey, my father liked them, that's how bad they were...lol

Re: RAGE Week 1 - 5th Jan 2012 Blurb

None of these are repeats so I am not sure where that information came from - maybe a change of mind from the Rage team? If so, very sensible!!

Re: RAGE Week 1 - 5th Jan 2012 Blurb

I'm excited about the 1987 episode of Countdown... Stacey Q's 'We Connect' in particular. And that might be the first airing of Mel & Kim's 'Showing Out' in Australia? Bananarama 'Trick of the Night' - I'm hoping it's the black & white Stock/Aitken/Waterman-produced version, but am guessing it's probably the colour Jolley & Swain-produced 'international'/US version.

Re: RAGE Week 1 - 5th Jan 2012 Blurb

I'm very happy that they are two shows from 1983 and 1984, this for me was the peak of 80s pop, or it was the start of my high-school days. I love 80s music generally, but the music particularly of 1983 1984 means a lot to me, because it was the threshold of my teen years, a lot of great stuff going on there. Anyway, here is the actual RAGE line up for Saturday night:

I'm looking forward to seeing - MEL AND DIM 'SOWING OUT' (rage/abc archives mistake)

This episode brings back so many memories. I was fanatic about Countdown in 1987 after getting hooked on it in late '86. I distinctly remember watching this episode and seeing the clip for 'My Baby' which I thought was a great follow up to 'Don't Get Me Wrong'. That was when I bought 'Get Close'. Nathan, 'Trick of The Night' is def. the coloured version and I think it's the better version of the two.

I think the coloured version is the better version of the song, but the black & white clip is so rare, and impossible to get a clean copy of.

Re: RAGE Week 1 - 5th Jan 2012 Blurb

Currently waiting on individual timings, as soon as its up I'll get 'em in here :)

Re: RAGE Week 1 - 5th Jan 2012 Blurb

Frankster, once again, can you do your trick with the exact timings of rage. As I still don't have a HDD recorder and record onto discs, exact timings are crucial. (for timer recording also). Cheers.

Re: RAGE Week 1 - 5th Jan 2012 Blurb

Certainly can Michael! As soon as they're released it'll be here :)
