Well, I got my request for the follow up to the preview of the Boy George and Marilyn interview :-) Though there is are still another 2 Lyn Buckfield episodes I need. The one with Let's Gamble in the Countdown studio plus Alison Moyet and Sade interviews and the 1985 Italian Boys one...
Another request for Spandau ballet is FINALLY being played! :-)
Also Chantoozies which I and many requested, don't like 1987 Countdown's much BUT always wanted this one to see Chantoozies host PLUS some other good stuff in t here I have looked forward to like the graphics section, Pete Burns and Boy George.
1986 is one I have wanted to see for awhile, I know John Justin and have his performance from this. Looking forward to Kissing The Pink.
Overall a GREAT night's programming except for all the video clips yet again. I remember the 1st Countdown Revolution and hated it, there are MUCH better Countdown Revolutions with heaps of studio performances like the Batdance Comp, but ah well...

Matt, from the brief look I had around the TARA site (http://www.abccontentsales.com/librarysales/databases/tara/default.htm), you can "buy" the episodes - but I think it's only for other broadcasters/TV channels, and commercial organisations. However, you'd want to be loaded. Non-broadcasting rates for footage costs are $20 per second! So for an average song of around 3.5 minutes, that would set you back a cool $4,200! But I don't know if you can buy the actual music videos within the programs, as the ABC doesn't hold the rights to those.
This is interesting:
Can I come into the ABC and do my own research?
Independent program makers and researchers can come to the ABC to use the research facilities in Sydney and Melbourne. You can access in-house databases and tape-viewing facilities and take away DVD dubs. There is a daily fee of $120 to cover facility costs plus our standard fees if you need specific research assistance from specialised ABC personnel. A shot list database and a Natural History database are available online, visit http://www.abccontentsales.com/librarysales/databases/
How do I buy ABC programs or segments for private or domestic use?
Programs can be obtained from the ABC Shop for home viewing only.
However there are many programs broadcast on ABC TV that are not available in the ABC Shop or other retail outlets, but can be ordered upon request from Non-Theatric Sales, see http://abc.net.au/programsales. These programs are licensed with 'non-theatric' rights which permits viewing by non-paying Australian-based audiences and are used most frequently for educational and business purposes.

OMG, so the fist one 2mor does have Kylie doing 'Hand On Your Heart'! !!! YAY :-)
Don't you love the PC ABC censorship in the 1985 episode where Sticky Little ***** by The Angels is referred to as "Sticky Little *******". Let's hope they don't bleep out the word when the song is played in tonight's presentation.
It seems we have the same moronic PC censorship on this site as well judging from how my last post was published. The Angels song is called STICKY LITTLE B-I-T-C-H. I hope I've managed to circumvent that crap censorship this time.

Thats a bit harsh, its nothing to do with Jason moderating posts. I suspect this forum is hosted on a US based server, so there servers are probably configured to filter out four letter words and so on.
I posted the playlists on here and realized that the word B I T C H was censored on here. It automatically censored it on this forum. when I type ***** it automatically blocked it out. i have to do this now,
B I T C H with a space.
DYYYYYYING for 1984, 1985 and 1986 Countdown's tonight!!!!...
Though not mega into 1987 I wanted this episodes for Pete Burns interview during Something in my House where he slags off Bananarama for wanting to sound like DOS, Boy George interview after the drugs and Chatoozies. HEAVEN!
And SO glad they are playing Kylie with 'Hand On Your Heart' from C.Revolution w
A few Boy George interviews tonight which makes me VERY happy :-) :-) :-) Which I recorded at the time and unfortunately don't have the original vhs anymore :-( So really GOOD I am getting it again.
Lol, Pete is a funny bugger. Although he mentioned in a recent-ish interview that he wanted to work with S/A/W for 'Spin Me' because he wanted the same sound as Divine's 'You Think You're a Man', so really he can't criticise Kim or the Nanas.
I reckon 'Venus' sounds more like 'Pistol In My Pocket' than 'You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)'.
Nathan, I said the same ting on facebook tonight. Pete wanted to work with S/A/W as he heard Hazel Dean's 'Whatever I Do' and Divine's 'You Think Your A Man' and loved them. LOL!!!
