1930 Durant 614 DeLuxe. This one runs great, we just take it for a drive for the occasional. Very nice straight car, ready for its next owner. Comes with some parts, and all sorts of memorabilia.... pictures, dealer sign, magazine ads.
Asking $19,900 CDN$ or $14,900 USD$.
This is the late Gord Taylor's 1930 614 in Nova Scotia that has been on Kijiji before. Still has the 1930 Nova Scotia plate 43409 on it. Leaside T-2621. Car has 5 bolt wires on the axles and 6 bolt wires side mounts, two types of hub caps. Gord put that air filter arrangement on it, horns, fog lights etc. Even switched it to 16 inch wires for a time to race about his area. I should have two pics somewhere of Gord getting out of the car with the 16's on it. Car was registered as a 1931 originally and Gord fought with MOT to have it correctly registered as a 1930, with no success.
Forum ... Jan 24, 2010 Gord Taylors 1930 614 sedan Pic's of the car are no longer on forum or photobucket It was discussed with Frank and others its worth in Jan 2010 at about half the asking present price. As we all know our cars are orphan cars and as such do not command high prices fully restored.
As far as rare Lansing vins to 30000, Oakland to 7783, and Leaside to 3526 for 1930 614's. Fair number of 1930 614's in the Registry.

Going by memory Gord owned a tranny shop in Toronto, which he turned over to his son. Then Gord and Shirley retired to Lantz NS. Gord was forever fixing other vintage cars down his way in NS for owners. You will note one door handle inside is not the spear design but that of the 1932 614 / 618 by Dominion Motors and is 1930 Essex handles they used, (same as my 1932 handles).
Old Auto's paper produced in Bothwell Ont did a write up on what's a car worth, and as luck would have it one of the cars was a rare 1932 618 Durant sedan with all the bells and whistles it could have ever had. Price article time and 20 years prior was $14,000. They explained orphan cars do not command big prices as all of us DMAC members know. I couldn't give a value of Gord's car so passed it to members of DMAC for an idea, and relayed that back to the family.
Nice to see Gord's car is still running around.

The stories behind the these orphan cars never stop amazing me. The car is in great shape and has been a treasure to drive around town in. It always manages to attract a crowd, wondering what it is, how old it is, etc etc.... a real gem for sure.
I'm hoping to find a new owner that appreciates it as much as I do and as much as Gord did.
