Are you in need of clinchers ? I have a couple but unsure of the size. I wilI get them and see if they're what you need. I didn't know what they were until I visited a car parts hoarder. I looked at rooms of parts .. seemed there was a room for every single part. Organized as a collection of an OCD . Watching the way he disassembled and cleaned and restores the parts before cataloging his new addition to the collection. I just don't think there are enough days left in my life to collect everything.

Jim just what are you looking for. Split rims are called just that and have a center mechanism of some sort, depending on the split rim, to fasten once the rim spreader has been used to spread the rim in the tire, to lock it in place. Some a pin, some a bolt, some a sliding thing or wedge.
Kelsey Hayes 19 x 4 inch rims used are same S4, 40, 60, 63, 66
Bimel 19 x 4 inch rims M4, S4, 40, 60, 63
Clincher rims are used on early cars like Ford T, Star, Durant, and most cars in the teens early 20's and are not split. Rim edges curl(hook)round on the one piece rim to clinch the tire edge in it.
Think you are looking perhaps for something like this in Mac's Ford parts for split rims. Model T Rim Clamp For 21" Split Rims, 1926-1927 Part #: 16-93701-1.
Should be lots of split rims around for your 40. Wonder if the two painted white 40 front wheels are still being used as laneway markers in Lanark on Robertson Drive. Years back an entire sedan painted red was sitting a few homes from those wheels. The fan off the W5 was being used as a weather fan up on a pole. I was told at one point by the owner of the wheels there is an entire car behind some garage in the area but I never perused it to find out where.

I haven't been able to post a picture on this forum but I put one on my blog at www.jimmys-durant.com. Go to front page, click more and click clincher picture. That is what I need. Any help is much appreciated.
Jim
Hi Jim .. just as I said you are looking for the split rim clamping part. This type the clamp goes over the raised part then held in place by sliding the lock over it. One of the rim bolts goes though here to stop the rim turning to shear off the valve stem when you apply the brakes. The 614 is the same idea with wood spoke wheel but nothing 1930 fits 29 and prior and vice versa other than tires / tubes and bee hive taillight. Not even the lugs.
Have another idea who might know here where to find the split rims same as on his 60.
Photobucket is a real pain now to use but I managed after 5 min to get this to post for you.
