Looking at the firewall from the engine side, the data plate is on the upper left corner area. At least there will be four small rivet holes where the data plate was.

1929 model year vins
T3001 to T 5000 Aug 1st 1928 to end.
1929 model year same as 1928 but rad shell has 3 vertical and one horizontal bar. 1928 has 3 vertical bars. 1928 has G.R. 4.44 and 1929 has 3.73 G.R.
Not many in the Registry with 4 1928 Model year and one 1929.
If you are missing the plate Frank sells them and Steve Large can provide a vin. Steve would also want the info as shown in the Tech Page, top titled DMAC Members Car Data Form, to add your 75 to the Registry Ignore DMAC Members as we use this form world wide member or not of DMAC. Having said that you will know looking at yours if a 1928 or 1929 model year (not to be confused with production year, which would be 1928) by the rad shell bars.

I own a 1928 Durant D75 "25th anniversary edition" with the 6 wire wheels and the radiator shell with the 3 vertical and 1 horizontal bars. They were only built one year at the Elizabeth New Jersey plant in 1928. The serial number designator has an "E" in front of the numbers. Some of them were sold in 1929 and were "titled" as a 1929. The 1929 Durant D70 was built at the Lansing Michigan plant.
Model 75 was built in Elizabeth, Oakland and Leaside. We have notation of 1928 model year sport brougham vin C 1008 and 1929 model year sedan C 3158 in the registry besides the Eliz ones.
1929 model year and 1930 model year 70 were built in Lansing, Oakland, and Leaside. Frank has two 70's we are waiting for full into on for the Registry and again two of the 1930 model year are T 2127 and T 2198
Less 70's made than 75's which is reflected in the vin ranges at the 3 plants.
