I don't know if this information has already been shared. Marilyn Bent phoned me a couple days ago to let me know that our friend Reg Bent has passed. Reg was the one who welcomed me to the world of Durant. He was always kind and helpful to me and I regard him as a friend forever. I will miss him.
So sad to hear this! Reg was a great person, excellent mechanic and his cars were restored to perfection. Las time I saw him was at the Ontario meet before they moved to Nova Scotia and enjoyed spending time with him. He had a great personality and was very very friendly. The kind of person you wanted to be around. Rest in Peace my friend. Condolences to Marilyn and the rest of the family. Once a Durantonian always a Durantonian, we've lost one of the best!
Where Are You From? Oviedo, Florida
Do You own a car built by Durant? 1928 Durant model 65 four door
Yes, it is sad tp learn of Reg's passing.
I enjoyed our long phone conversations about Durant cars.
While in the early stages of restoring my 31 Durant, Reg
was a Hugh help, he even drove fours hours each way to pickup a pair of front fenders for my Durant.
I'll miss him.
I first met Reg at the National meet held near Toronto Canada many years ago. We went to his and Marylin's beautiful home and grounds on one of our tours. Talk about a well organized shop/garage! I'd say he spruced it up for us, but it probably always looked that way. He developed some parts to add modern telescopic shocks for the 30-31 models and he gifted me a set. Great guy, and I wish I could have bought the 30 roadster project that he was selling a few years ago! A loss to the Durant community. Ross
Cathy and I are so sorry to hear of Regs passing.
we met him many years ago at one of the DMAC meets in Canada.
he was always a pleasure to talk with and a wealth of information.
I will always remember the thrill of driving his Rugby touring on one of the tours!
safe journey my friend!
