I'm assuming your car had a factory ammeter and the wiring is right at the gauge. Just hook up the gauge (screwed onto the two terminals). If the gauge reads discharge when you switch on the lights, you"re good. If it shows a charge, reverse the connections. No harm was done to the gauge. Or are you wondering what wires to connect? I'm sure there is a wiring diagram in the tech section. If not, I'll bet the same colors were used for different years, as there was some attempt at standardization.
