Transmission Shop needed

Does anyone know of person or shop that can rebuild a 31 Durant tranny?

Re: Transmission Shop needed

Rick- do you have a 3 or 4 speed? I have a spare 3 speed which might have some gears if yours are bad (but I really haven't looked). The reason I bring this up is because if you have worn or broken gear teeth you would have a problem, since there might be no interchanges outside of Durant products. I would think you could find new bearings and make gaskets. The brass nose bearing would be simple to make if it is too worn. Other than that stuff they are really simple. Ross

Ross ... 4 speed is Rugby 615 and 616.
407, 611, 612, 614, 618, 619 Durant and E-618 Fronty with straight cut gears. Not Constant Mesh.
E-618, E-670, 685 Fronty and 618 Durant with helical cut gears. Constant Mesh.
Only the 618 Durant could be both and could be 18 or 19 inch wheels.
