Lance was just a few months older than me. Over the years we had many discussions on car issues and "growing up" in the same area. Lance was from Bremerton, WA and I from Everett just across the big pond.
There are many car issues I could reflect back on but the one I remember best is the two of us buying the 25 Flint. I don't usually go all the way to Spokane (in July) to a swap meet, but I did to meet Joe and his wife. I followed them to their property about 50 miles N E of Spokane to Spirit Lake Idaho. After looking at the car I called Lance before I headed back to the Coast. I remember Lance telling me that we just had to save that rare Flint. We know the rest of the story.

Do You own a car built by Durant? Just good memories
Very sorry to hear Lance passed away. We traded a lot of Durant parts to help each other, and he was always outgoing and generous with his help and information. I met with him many times at his place in San Diego, and even drove his Star on one of his catering events.
Lots of good memories. He will be missed.

Lance was sure a great guy. I first met him in 2001 when we had the Annual meeting in California. Mary Carolyne and I stayed with the Babicks and had just a wonderful time. Lance took us to the Original Durant Manufacturing building in Oakland and also to the Durant Garage on the Lincoln Highway I believe that was the first time that Bill Hoaglan had his 23 Durant touring on the road. I even had a chance to drive it. Wonderful memories. Lance also came to Michigan a few years later. All great memories. He sure was a great supporter of this club.
