I finally have all the tires off the rims and thinking to have them sandblasted and powder coated rather than painted. I remember reading that originally the rims were galvanized. I think i found a color that would look like a good match .
What do you folks think ?

Thanks , I think it will be much more durable than paint but wasn’t sure if it was an accepted method of restoration.

I don't know if it's an acceptable finish if you are going for some AACA national award. But it is durable and there is many colors. If they were originally galvanized?
