Does anyone have an Auto-Lite catalog from the '30's that shows what the catalog numbering system stands for? An example is IGB-4006-B which is a distributor out of a 1929 Model 60 Durant. The starter is MZ-xxxx and the generator is GAL-xxxx. I am trying to decipher what the letters and numbers stand for. Usually there is a system that they employed and it was listed in the front of the catalog to help identify the different products. Thanks, Phil
Phil- For some reason I picked up a two volume set of Autolite reference manuals at the Portland Swap meet years ago that will probably help you. These were probably at some parts jobber in the area. They are huge, probably 15 lbs apiece. Do you want to meet up and borrow them? Ross
I have a smaller catalog for 1930 Durants that has photos and expanded detail illustrations in addition to the detailed parts listings.
I do not think it has the key to their numbering system, but I would be interested in it if you come up with it.
