At least on the Star M's there were two different motors. One similar to yours and the other was a Trico linear model. It had a piston that moved back and forth inside a tube. The mounting holes were different on each one.

Rebuilding the wiper was the easy part and there was no pot metal cancer either. Figuring out how to mount it to my 619 was the hard part.
Yeah Rick you got it right. Use a thin oil like sewing machine oil and suck it through both ways. Like the Trico badge! Ross
