Cylinderhead Gasket

I need a cylinder head gasket for a 1930 Durant Coupe. Flathead 6 cylinder Continental engine. I cannot find a data plate listing engine type / model. there is a casting mark of 11/13/29 on the cylinder head and the following number: 22AA605

The vehicle title lists the following. VIN is: 4374B , Model: 437.
I cannot find that as a vehicle type nor can I decipher the gasket table on this page.

Any ideas on engine model?

Re: Cylinderhead Gasket

Gary- Olson's gasket in Washington state will be able to supply head and manifold gasket for your 22A. Not sure what the model number you listed means. Not a Durant number. Someone may have just used part of your VIN? Even that would not have any "B" at the end.

Re: Cylinderhead Gasket

Hi Gary.
I bought a head gasket from Olson's a few months ago for the 6 cylinder 22AA engine in my 1930 Model 614. Olson's is a small family owned business and outstanding to work with. Definitely 5 stars!

Have you checked the floor board in front of the passenger side of the front seat? There should be a small plate with the model number (614) and serial number (a letter followed by numbers such as C-1234).
Numbers on titles can be different because some states used the numbers on the plate and others used the numbers stamped on the engine. The number 4374 on your title may be the serial number stamped on your engine. The model 437 looks like a typo.

Re: Cylinderhead Gasket

Interesting grin .. 4374B and model 437. Head casting date 11-13-29 on the 22A. That puts it early 1930 614 most likely with Nov casting. Model 437 is first 3 digits of your "vin" so someone messing about.
Now how about this in Terry's Registry 1930 614 Coupe L-4374 22A-5941 Go you one better in Steve's Registry 1930 614 Coupe Black L-4374 22A-5941 head casting 11-13-29 owned by Carl Ryden in Stephenville Texas.

Since there are no two vins the same regardless of alpha at beginning I'd say we have a match to Gary's coupe perhaps. Check the boss on passenger side of the block at back of exhaust manifold for the engine serial to see if 5941 stamped there to confirm same car. As Bob also said a vin plate on the toe board passenger side should have L 4374 from Lansing plant.
