31 DeVaux 6/75 restored and driving & lots of pictures all over inside my May 2019 AACA magazine

Hi Gang.
First of all Gary thanks for connecting up with master restorer Bill in our faithful club with your 32 DeVaux, wow, looks cool. Just got my May / June AACA magazine & inside the front cover a perfect red 32 De Vaux 6/75 4dr built in Grand Rapids production no M-2317 looks 100% stock and family drivers it a bunch and 4 full pages in color and the whole history, but don't recognize any of the different owners appears a Tom Spurgeon owned it long time ago or owns it now as article is very confusing. Bill Krall Sr owned it long time a Barry Palmer bought it from Phil Haggerman in 1990 and Phil bought it from a used car lot in 1956 . The De Vaux only has 37,700 miles on it with 31 plates on it. I will take my magazine over to a good color copier:umbrella_on_ground: and copy the 4 pages plus the inside cover and mail anyone that would like a set of these pages. The elderly couple said going to drive it a bunch, whole car looks brand new even the engine. I actually can send anyone with a modern cell color pictures from my cell phone.

Re: 31 DeVaux 6/75 restored and driving & lots of pictures all over inside my May 2019 AACA magazine

Hi Lance: Yes, I know the car. There is a great story here. On the Registry I had a car owned by Barry Palmer (we created the first Registry) and a car owned by David DeVaux...(of Iowa I think). The car owed by David was purchased from a retired teacher from Grand Rapids. I always wondered it it was the same car. David DeVaux was a second cousin of Norman DeVaux. It was his dad that purchased the car from Barry. Barry did the restoration. David told me the story that his dad told him that in early 56 Norman DeVaux stopped at there house on his way to Florida. He was looking for a handout to get him to Florida. He died at his daughters house in Gainsville a few months later. When David died the car went up for auction. Bill Krall owns it and we have talked many times.

Another side story on this is that Norman DeVaux had just given up on his Copper mine claim in Globe Arizona. That claim was later purchased by Phelps Dodge. My sin-in-laws father is the mine manager and I have been up there.

This one is s 1931 675 sedan they are talking about
At present at least 24 1931 675 coupes exist and one 1932 675 coupe. 1932 680 coupes at least four are known. Hard to say when new cars come out of the woodwork unknown to members.
