Wanted one 1930 or 31 Durant Cowl band.
I believe the cowl band is the same for most models of those years.
However I realize finding one of these is a long shot so I also need to repair mine. A 5" inch bottom piece on both ends is too far rusted to preserve, so I like to find a similar band that could be cut and the good ends grated onto mine. Any ideas on similar bands or some other source would be a big help.

That chromed steel band is used on 1931 / 32 Durant / Rugby / Frontenac's, when they switched from piano hinge hoods to the chromed steel hood strip hinge, and changed dash from the crest like instrument plate / square pulls to the 31 / 32 gold plates and round pulls.
1930 had no band.

Don't know if any other make used a stainless steel band that would fit our cowls. Stephan painted both strip and band as its too costly to rechrome. I have pointed out two sites to get the stainless hood strips to overcome the hood strip problem but band ??

28's used them too as an option. My 65 has a stainless band around the cowl.

Mike forgot about the taller narrower old ladies cars of 28 / 29 that had bands as well, compared to the lower wider faster 30's cars ha ha. Might be in the same boat as the 30 / 31 Ford A bands the cowl is narrower ? than the 31 / 32 D's Would be interesting to see if they do fit or can be made to fit.
Funny they used chromed steel on 31 / 32 yet stainless on 28 / 29.
