Re: Paint colors

You sure Don ? Looking in photos DMAC 1923 John Foster seems to be dark green with black fenders, 1923 Pelle Lundberg is blue / black, 1924 Tom Schwab unrestored is red ? brown ? / black. Good many are all black.
Red / black touring here http://car--reviews.com/content/durant-star.html another Red / black touring http://www.earlyamericanautomobiles.com/1916.htm

Almost makes sense they were all black like Henry said. You can have any colour on your T providing it was black. However Fords were various colour back to the very first one, before T's.

If this is a 1924 C touring its before Durant Motors. W4 engine plate will say Star Motors Company, New York City, New York. Serial number xxxxx. Manufactured by Continental Motors Corp'n, Detroit, Muskegon, Mich. Just means Continental Motors made the engines for Star Co HQ (not part of Durant Motors until 1925 model year) and shipped to various Durant Motors plant for insertion into a Star car. The engine serial should identify which plant by looking at other such serials if vin plate is missing.

So, the only color was Black only.

Re: Paint colors

EBay has a 1924 Canadian Star brochure that says the special touring and sedan are finished in Liberty Blue with white striping, black running gear and wheels to match body and strip. Wheels can be optional disk or standard wood spoke.

It is silent on what other colour's or that rest are black.

Terry's site says slightly different with Radio Blue. Too bad Terry's site doesn't have full brochures and a lot don't work when clicked on to enlarge.

The special touring car comes in radio blue with white striping, black running gear and wheels to match body and stripe. The top and curtain material is of special quality and the seat cushions are black, long grain composition leather

The special sedan is offered either in a dark maroon with Durant red striping, black upper structure and running gear and wheels maroon with black striping, or in Radio blue with white striping, black upper structure and running gear and wheels to match body and stripe. In either case the upholstery is in a high quality mohair in a shade to harmonize with the body color.
