Not going to help but Leaside aftermarkets say M2 and 55 are same. Red lense with clear lower for plate.
Both M2 Durant's in Photo section have the Chevy type taillights. Justin Schiess / Jorge Flores Some pics in DMAC of the Texas Museum M2 but more in http://www.txtransportationmuseum.org/collection-1928-durant-star-coupe.php and that also has a Chevy like canister but not the cross part on the door. Perhaps the door is incorrect but lense is the Chevy type.
Not too many rear views of any vehicle in Photos

I believe it would have the round "bee hive" tail light with a black painted housing. My model 65 had the same light but it was nickled. Very common light found often on Ebay.

Mike .. yes the beehive lense and box are on eBay often and say 65 and 1931 Durant, plus other makes of cars. That's US marketing as all 1930 - 32 Durant 31 / 32 Frontenac had the beehive lense in Canada. Was also used on 40 / 60.
However aftermarkets signify
M2 / 55 with their own
63 / 70 could be black body
65 / 70 could be nickel plated (yours)
66, 70, 75, 618 all chrome.
Somewhere in DMAC there is a page of the different taillights lenses used.
