Restoration

OK
Its been long enough. No shop - No time. I'm starting to think I need someone else to do my restoration. The car is in pretty good shape, Needs a new top, Interior is good, but has not been started in 40 years.The body is in good shape. Anybody know a good restorer that has worked on our cars, preferably on the east coast.

This car belonged to my Grandfather

Re: Restoration

Hi Rory;
There a number of them on the East Coast that are excellent. The Antique Automobile Club of America has a number of them advertised in their magazine. If your not a member, I can send you one of their magazines so you can look at it. Find the names of several and ask for references. I know one in Southern Pennsylvania that one of our club members in Maryland used. He was satisfied with the paint job he did. I think there around Gettysburg somewhere. Don't be afraid to ask them specific questions about your restoration. If they are close, then visit them and see their operation. Try to find one that has been in business for a number of years. Remember I've heard horror stories of guys taking their cars in and the owner going out of business and it taking years to get their car and parts back if ever. Email me and I'll get you the contact of the member who had a shop do some paint work for him. That should be right up the Valley for you. Also remember that shops now get anywhere from $50 to $100+ per hour to do the work.
