After all this time I finally tried to get it running and find a gas leak ****ed Carburetor seems to have a small crack in it and gas -of course -is leaking out .I cant see any way to repair it but maybe a sealing compound -If I can find one-- might make it work okay. Anyone know what kind of stuff is available?? Pot metal is really bad stuff to work with.
Any help would sure be appreciated

Ah that's nasty. You might try JB WELD if the crack can be accessed externally and is not near bolts and such. It's really tough stuff and I've used it on other repairs with great success. The key to adhesion will be removal of all oily/gas contamination and then a light and careful sanding or scuffing with sand paper to give it good adhesion. Once fully cured gasoline won't affect it. Well worth a try.

I used that J B Weld to repair the Distributor mount elbow behind the generator on my A-22 when I restored the car 15 years ago and is still going strong....Best thing that has come along since the flush toilet, well, with the exception of Yukon Jack.
