Loosen a Frozen Nut

Machinist Workshop Magazine tested the break out torque on rusted bolts.
No penetrant used required---516 lbs
" #1 238 lbs
" #2 214 lbs
" "3 127 lbs
" #4 106 lbs
ATF-Acetone 50/50 mix 53 lbs

Wish I'd known this before my shoulder muscle gave up on me.

Hi Jack....

Yes that is an old farmers formula for a great penetrating oil. It's also cheap and effective. Works equally well to free up a frozen engine.

Very easy to remember 1/2 automatic transmission fluid and 1/2 acetone.
