Peg and I have started the planning process for Traverse City, we will be there. For those flying, Grand Rapids is a good airport choice, and then drive to Traverse City.

And I concur, you do not have to bring a car, just bring yourselves. DMAC members have a good time, and we have had some great annual meetings, in some great locations, because we have great members. If you have never been to an annual meeting, make this your first, if we have not seen you in a couple of years, join us this year, and those that are regular attendees, you know that we have a good time. So, let me echo Frank, Peg and I look forward to seeing everyone in September.

I HAVE PLANNED ON THAT MICHIGAN TRIP...AND THE CASINOS TOO...I WON $500 LAST TIME AND GOOD THING I DID...WHEN I STOPPED OVERNIGHT ON THE WAY HOME MY BATTERY DIED SUNDAY NIGHT IN THE MOTEL LOT...IT COST BE $250 TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD AND HOME.....CASINO WINNINGS TO THE RESCUE...HAHAHAHA

I am planning on making the trip. Driving again as usual. Dont know yet whether or not my car will be ready but it just might be close enough to take it along . Time will tell.
I always have a good time so I am going again. Norma says she cant do it this year so I am on my own .

Cyndi & I are planning to attend; I have relatives in Detroit so it looks like we will make an extended vacation out of it. We are trying to decide if we bring the 614 to impress the kinfolk as well, maybe drive thru Flint? It’s a long way to tow with the gas prices being what they are, but then so what! Hope to see some of the friends we made in Vancouver and looking forward to meeting new ones from the East and Midwest.

Well my thoughts on this. This is an election year here in the states so those dreaded politicians might just try and keep the prices low so they look good. Also this is right after the summer time so prices might drop back too. Also maybe somebody in the middle east won't hickup and drive the prices up. Seems they change daily don't they? We'll never see the days of $.19 when our Durant products were new nor will we see the days again when we were younger and prices were from $.25 to $.65 cents a gallon. Soooo what do you do, never bring your car to a Durant meet or show them again. Lock them away to gather dust. you just need to save up, bite the bullet and bring those cars to the Durant meets! Most of the meets are planned far out in advance so there is plenty of time to save those pennies or for you Canadians those nickels.

This is an update just to update so maybe others will read and indicate that they are attending. I am looking forward to seeing many lighthouses while we are in Michigan. I know that Bob and Stephanie have some on our tours, and we plan on driving up the shore of Lake Michigan to see many others.

I'm hoping to bring my parents this trip. My Grandfather is unable to do long trips and for him riding from South Dakota to Michigan is a long trip. I have the Durant running after last fall's rear differential issue, and I put about 50 miles on it yesterday driving to and from a car show. It's running really well, so hopefully it will still be running well by September.

fantastic, and Peg and I look forward to meeting your parents and seeing you and Ryan again. And I am sure that we can find time to talk about Ford Diesels, it just cost me $2700 to fix one of them. Peg and I are arriving in GRR on Tuesday evening in time for dinner, then on Wednesday morning we are driving up the left coast to see as many lighthouses and brewpubs as we can before we arrive in Traverse City in time for dinner on Wednesday, and there are 2 brewpubs in Traverse City that we plan on visiting and anyone that would like to join us is more than welcome.

OK, we are about 45 days and counting until the Annual DMAC Meet in Michigan. Who is going? While I have not sent my check to Bob Smith, and that will occur later in July, Peg and I have Air/Car/Hotels/Restaurants all booked for the trip.

Now, are YOU going to be there? If yes, first post here, and then send Bob Smith a check for the registration fee, which I think is $99, but since I do not like to write checks for $99, I will send $100 x 2 for Peg and I.

Oh, and FYI, Peg and I are flying into GRR on Tuesday, hopefully in time for dinner, then driving up the left coast of Michigan to photograph lighthouses to arrive at the hotel in time for dinner on Wednesday. Brewpubs are on our agenda, so if anyone would like to join us on Wednesday, let us know so that we can make the reservations.

Today is August 26, there are about 22 days until the start of the 2012 DMAC Event, and I use that term broadly, because our meeting are EVENTS, not just get togethers.

I belong to a lot of organizations, and I have lots and lots of meeting across the US, but, one of my favorite get togethers is the annual DMAC. Peg and I attend to see friends, have fun, and enjoy the company of members that we only get to see once a year. That once per year get together has created long term friendships that Peg and I cherish.

We look forward to seeing all of you each September, and we encourage those of you that have not attended a DMAC to plan to attend this year's if you can, and if you cannot, it is time to put on your calendar next year.

Next year will be in San Diego, and Peg is (I am assisting) planning an event that will be one for the DMAC history books. If you are in Traverse City, you will get to hear the preview of what is planned.

Once we have posted the actual dates, we STRONGLY recommend that if you are coming to San Diego, and you have never been there before, that you add days to your trip and make this a DESTINATION vacation. And again, if you are in Traverse City, Peg and I will give you a briefing (and if I am the one talking briefing is an oxymoron) on what to do.

Got my ticket to fly in. I have to fly my Southwest so will come to Detroit. The trip back is up in the air....would like to see the DeVaux's in Wisconsin and St. Paul so not sure. Anyone know about the ferry (and cost) to cross the lake to Manitowoc? It is a easy shot on the Empire Builder from St. Paul to Seattle.

Hi all. Less than two weeks to go. WOW; Are we going to have fun? You bet. FUN FUN FUN we eat it up, as my old civics teacher would say. After the meet is over [DARN} does anybody know where we can store the antique car and trailer for 2-3 days in or near the Traverse city area while we go to the Henry Ford museum. We don't want to tow it to Dearborn. After Dearborn, we will be driving back to the Traverse city area and plan to take the northerly route home. With about 60 fellow members and about 15 cars this is going to be a good meet. Thanks, Bert
