I am working on the brakes on a Durant D75 and need to replace the riveted linings. They are the Bendix 12 inch diameter, 3 shoe mechanical type with linings that measure about 3/16 in thickness by 1-3/4 wide. Does anyone know what type material should be used to match the original material? Their are basically 2 types of material available now which are the Nonmetallic Molded material with a Coefficient of Friction (COF) of around .47 and the Semi Metallic Woven material that has a higher COF of around .50 which translates into a shorter stopping distance. The drawback to the latter is the increased wear rate to the drums over time. What are your thoughts?
