1928 Durant open tourer. Left hand drive.
Chassis number E-7735
Registration number SL9745
Under the current ownership since 1983. This car was imported by the present owner from Uruguay whilst he was working there. The car has under this ownership been fastidiously maintained with regular servicing & light usage.
The car is powered by a 3.0 litre continental engine which is a paragon of smoothness. It starts instantly & pulls strongly as the body is quite light. The autovac fuel delivery system has recently been rebuilt. The gear box is a three speed unit easily mastered. The spare wheel is rear mounted.
The body is in the form of an open tourer with black seats & red carpets. Both seats & carpets are in superb condition as is the Lemon Yellow/Burgundy paintwork. The hood is cream & quickly folds up or down.
The car was built for export & was thus fitted with wire wheels rather then wooden artillery wheels which South American termites tend to regard as lunch. 4 good tyres are fitted to the car. The car is sold freshly MOT'd & ready for a season of summer motoring.
This is a very, very rare car in excellent running order. Only one other is known in the UK. If there are more we would like to hear from you. The car is in our Henley showroom ready for viewing. It comes with a UK V5 document & also assorted old paperwork, mostly in Spanish relating to its former life in Uruguay & subsequent shipping from Montevideo.
