Any 1929 Locomobile's Out-there? and NEW club member!

Bob Smith,
I got your letter yesterday and am writing an answer to Mr. Falek's, Decoral Ia. Question:

Are any 1929 Locomobile's Out-there???

Excellent letter and he is quite correct in that 1929 was a short production year starting in Sept 1928 and ending in March 1929 when the company shut-down. Or a production run of only about 300 Locomobiles(or 337(?)from other sources). There were a few (?) in the "New" prototype model 86, the previous model 88 and maybe a few others (possibly Model 8-70,90, and/or 48?) Company records and reliable data for Locomobile's end years are virtually non-existant.

I have not heard or come across any Locomobile 1929 Model 86, or Model 88's and have only a "picture" of these. I have bought a "Home Photograph" (e-Bay) of an 1929 Locomobile Sedan but it appears to be an 8-70(?), and the year (or model) cannot be confirmed.

Also WELCOME to the new Durant Mtrs club member Mr. Donald A. Cardwell, Amityville, NY and his 1916 Locomobile Roadster Type R, Lot 6 DeClausse Design with a Rumble seat! This is a Model 38 and is "very" similar to the 1922 Locomobile Model 48's from the Durant years. These are a Wonderful large (aprox 140" inch WB)"Full-Classic" model, with a huge 6 Cyl T-Head (43.35 HP)engine .It's great to have him and his Locomobile in our club with his new project car!
