Frank.... If you were to make copies of the plates from your own cars and add them to the board (18 empty spaces), would the board be full or would you need to buy 1 more car?? No fair using the Dort carriage tag!
Remember... 1-800-Durantsanonymous..We're there for you!! Jim G.
The analogy to this is whereas big game hunters hang trophy animal heads all over the walls of their houses, Frank does the same thing, only in a smaller space!!!!
I'm sure Cathy prefers this to a Moose head perpetually staring at her down the hall!!!!
Thanks for the advice, I told Cathy that you both think I need to buy more cars to fill up the blank spaces!
Seriously, this collection is a real time capsule. The style and neatness of the stampings vary widely. Some look like they were stamped with a sledge hammer, while others appear almost engraved.
Is the Model A, the same as the A-22 ? I know the Elizabeth tag with the "N" is a car that was begun in New York but finished in New Jersey.
Notice that the early Star tag from California mentions Oakland, later ones just said California.
What about the tag that does not mention Star but is for an "F" from Elizabeth. My thought is that it is for an export Rugby. What do you think?
The Canadian tag has a much smaller "Durant" than most others I have seen. The 619 tag has the final Durant style font.
There are also some wide variations on the number range.
Got to make room for 18 more cars.
See Y'all in Texarkana.....Frank ---
