Last weekend my Roadster was shown in the Marin-Sonoma Concours d'Elegance 1929 Show Case, a non judged exhibit. On one side there was a beautiful Rolls Royce , Nash, Mercedes roadster once owned by Groucho Marx and Huppmobile. On the other side were three Jordon's, a roadster, coupe and sedan. Pretty good company eh? But the kicker was when the other car owners told me how my little roadster attracted the most attention.
Even though it was 98 degrees, people kept me busy answering questions until well into the late afternoon.
Rick
Where Are You From? Fremont, California
Do You own a car built by Durant? 1929 Model 60 Roadster
Rick.... doesn't surprise me. Getting that Durant Roadster of yours out among the "better know elegant" cars lets you know just how nice and rare your car really is!
Just curious, How many of the questions were about the straw hat with a matching head band (Ha Ha)?
Good deal!!
An interesting side note. The owner of the Jordon roadster told me his parents courted in his father's two Durants, a 1928 Roadster and 1928 Sedan. He sent me pictures and the both appear to have been Oakland cars and both came with exterior trumpet horns. Other than 1929 roadsters, I had never seen those special horns on Durants before.
Just proves there is always something new to learn in Durant land.
Thanks Vince, I didn't know about the Marin Independent that's great. I was told during the show that they used my picture in at least one press release.
