Clutch Pedal Shaft Yoke

Hello Gentlemen:

I appreciate being able to ask questions / opinions as I dismantle, clean and prepare parts for a mechanical refurbishment.

Current Point:

Clutch Pedal Shaft Yoke.

As my photographs indicate, my grandpa had sleeves (one is a squared copper pipe) on end of each forks.

Repair Parts List (Star and Durant) Part # 22504 and picture on page 46 shows no sleeves...

So can these added sleeves be explained to me. Does anyone have clear memories of this part on their car and were there sleeves on forks ? And what is the function of these sleeves ?

My other point is; where exactly is this fork to push against ? (the back of the bearing solely ?)

Appreciate any points

Guy
