Loose Differential Housing

The housing (part no. 20309) that covers the universal joint between the clutch and the transmission on my 1925 Star is loose. I can easily wiggle it and it will rattle occasionally. The universal joint itself appears to be fine. Is this normal or is something out of adjustment or broken?
