The repair manual indicates 4 quarts when empty. Midway of the cylinder block in a recessed place you will find a small rod or plunger. This is the motor oil guage, and when the proper amount of oil is in the motor, the rod will extend above the base 1 1/2 inches. When oil in motor is drained, and fresh oil installed, always see that oil presure is shown on the oil guage mounted on the instrument board. If no presure is shoun, it is necessary to prime the oil pump by disconnecting the oil pressure pipe at the motor end and injecting sufficient oil to start the pump working.Hope this helps [THE WOLFMAN].
